Health Policy: Participating member of the Policy and Advocacy Committee for the Commission to End Health Disparities. The CEHCD was established in 2004 by the American Medical Association and the National Medical Association, and with the National Hispanic Medical Association to address disparities in health care and in response to the Institute of Medicine’s report Unequal Treatment: Confronting Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care
Health Policy: Partnered with community resources such as: minister coalitions, community health care providers, community residents and health care administrators to understand health care needs and concerns. Works with special interest groups and policy makers to drive positive change in South Chicagoland health care delivery systems (2009-2011)
Public Health: Developed a series of public forum educational workshops utilizing the resources of community health care providers, the AIDs Foundation of Chicago, the American Cancer Society and American Heart Association titled “State of the Union Address: Black America and HIV/AIDs (2010)
Health Policy: Coordinated a health care leadership call-to-action with senior executive leaders of Chicago Southern Cook County Regional hospitals to gain support for tax-increase necessary to funding public health system. Coordinated with lead agencies such as the National Association of Public Hospitals and NAHSE to win hospital tax-payer support. Endeavor resulted in the salvaging of three primary health acute care providers and primary care facilities within health disparate portions of Illinois (2009)
Public Policy: Appointed to the advisory council for Cook County Board President in support of Cook County Health and Hospital System Independent Board selections (2009)
